Population and vital statistics in the mazowieckie voivodship in 2015

For Mazowieckie voivodship a year 2015 was a consecutive one which recorded a population growth.
Compared with 2014, as a result of positive net migration within internal migrations, the number of the voivodship’s residents went up by 12385 persons. Population growth was also a result of positive natural increase – in 2015, the number of live births was higher by 2426 than the number of deaths.

From the nineties on, tertiary education has been subject to significant changes, for which legal bases was the Higher Education Law dated 12 September 1990 (Journal of Laws No. 65, item 385, with later amendments) which has regulated functioning of higher education institutions. Aside from existing public institutions, non-public higher education institutions have been established and developed. The Master’s system of studies has been modified by introducing two-cycle system of tertiary education enabling to continue education after receiving the Bachelor’s degree or Engineer title on second-cycle programmes, earlier referred to as supplementary Master’s studies. Within existing structures, some institutions conduct regular studies with a foreign language as a lecture language. Students have also possibility to choose an individual course of studies.

For the Mazowieckie voivodship a year 2014 was a consecutive one which recorded a population growth. Compared with 2013, as a result of positive net migration within internal migrations and negative net migrations within international migrations, the number of permanent residents of the voivodship went up by 13108 persons. Population growth was also a result of a positive natural increase. In 2014 the number of live births was higher by 3645 than number of deaths. The actual increase was as high as 16753 persons.

Starting from the 90s, higher education in Poland has been subject to significant transformation, based on the Act on higher education of 12th September 1990 (Journal of Laws No. 65, item 385 with amendments), regulating the functioning of higher schools. Non-public higher schools have emerged and developed, aside of the existing public schools. The scheme of studying towards Master has been differentiated by introducing two-cycle higher education, allowing to continue education, after obtaining bachelor’s of engineer’s title, on second-cycle studies, previously called complementary master’s studies. Within the existing framework of studies, some higher education institutions run regular programmes with tuition in a foreign language. Students can also opt for an individual course of studies.
