For the first time, selected data have been presented in accordance with the new NUTS 2016 classification effective from 1 January 2018, introduced by Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/2066 of 21 November 2016 as a result of which the Mazowieckie voivodship was divided into two statistical regions - the region of the capital city of Warszawa and Mazowiecki region. This regulation is the result of the revision of Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS), where modifications were made in division into statistical units of 9 EU Member States.

The publication by its scope is strengthening the monitoring of cohesion policy in the region.

The study consists of the synthesis of research results, enriched with charts and cartograms showing some of the phenomena occurring in Mazowieckie voivodship, statistical tables and methodological notes.

Data in publication are grouped into four parts, presenting the following information:

• employment,
• unemployment,
• work conditions,
• wages and salaries.
