I am pleased to present to you the fifteenth edition of the annual "Report on the Socio-Economic Situation of Mazowieckie Voivodship." This publication is a comprehensive analytical study addressing the development challenges facing the country and the voivodships outlined in the National Regional Devel
opment Strategy 2030, and is particularly addressed to representatives of local government units.

The thematic layout of the publication allows for the effective identification of the development needs of Mazovia and supports regional analyses carried out in order to monitor the implementation of public policy assumptions. The analysis was made in various territorial sections, which enabled the presentation of differences in the social and economic development of the Voivodship. The analytical text of the study was enriched with tables and a graphic presentation in the form of maps and charts, which allows for a quick and effective perception of statistical information, as well as the relations between spatial phenomena presented using them.

The basic part of the Report was supplemented with tables containing an overview of the most important data for Mazowieckie Voivodship and Warszawa in retrospective and for the country. Graphical form was used to present selected data for Mazovia against the background of other voivodships.

The data presented in the Report relate to 2025 or the last available year. In order to illustrate changes over time, some issues are presented in a multi-year retrospective. For most topics, the presentation of phenomena dates back to 2015. Selected data were compared to the average values for the country.

This year's edition of the publication included for the first time – in the form of an Annex – selected information on the Strategic Intervention Areas (SIAs), defined in the National Strategy for Regional Development 2030 as areas (gminas) at risk of permanent marginalisation and cities losing their socio-economic functions, for which special development support instruments are in place. A wide range of data for functional areas (including SIAs) is also available in a dedicated module entitled Functional areas in the Local Data Bank (at https://bdl.stat.gov.pl/bdl/obszary) and in the next edition of the Statistics Poland’s publication entitled Regional development of Poland - analytical report 2025.

I do hope that this publication will provide a lot of interesting information about the spatial diversity of the socio-economic situation of Mazowieckie Voivodship and will be a useful source of knowledge for all persons implementing long-term development strategies.
