The Statistical Office in Warsaw is pleased to present the 36th edition of the Statistical Yearbook of Warsaw. The publication contains a comprehensive set of information characterising the living conditions of the society and the state of the economy of the Capital City of Warsaw in the Polish-English language version.

The publication starts with four review tables containing major data on the Capital City of Warsaw in 2000—2017, data regarding districts of the Capital City of Warsaw in 2017, selected data per capita in 2010—2017 and data on Warsaw in comparison with Mazowieckie voivodship.

Detailed statistical data were grouped in 22 chapters, preceded by general notes explaining terminology, methodology and scope of information used in the publication. The published statistical material has been enriched mainly with charts and cartograms.

This edition of the Yearbook has been enriched with, among others, information on the new education system introduced from the 2017/18 school year, art galleries, occupancy in tourist accommodation establishments.

Survey results of public statistics as well as non-statistical sources of information have been used while compiling the publication.

At the same time we encourage Readers interested in data on Warsaw districts to study our publication „Panorama of Warsaw districts” published every year.
