Social and economic transformations on a local scale and the strengthening of the role of local government increase the demand for broadly understood statistical information on gminas and powiats. Thinking about local authorities and residents of Mazowieckie Voivodship, the Statistical Office in Warszawa has prepared the eighteenth edition of the study entitled "Statistics of gminas and powiats of Mazowieckie Voivodship in 2015 and 2022". It is a supplement to the publications of the Statistics Poland and the Office describing the diversity of selected elements of the socio-economic potential of gminas and powiats in Mazowieckie Voivodship. The technical solutions used enable both quick access to data and the presentation of indicators in a form tailored to the individual needs of the user. We hope that the study will be useful for you in your current work and will become a pretext for getting to know our other products.

The basic part of the study is „Statistical data”, which contains detailed information in territorial breakdowns on the environment, condition and structure of the population, local labour markets, selected elements of social and technical infrastructure, entities of the national economy and the budgets of powiats and gminas. A number of categories are presented using ratios in addition to absolute numbers. [Descriptions of the statistical measures used are available in the section „Definitions of indicators”. Data on population and demographic indicators, as well as calculations per capita (1000 population, etc.) were prepared: for 2015, taking as the starting point the results of the National Population and Housing Census 2011, and for 2022 – the results of the National Population and Housing Census 2021.

Interactive maps were used to better illustrate the spatial differences in the formation of some phenomena. In order to show the powiat's position in the Voivodship, a ranking of powiats has been included.

This publication has been prepared on the basis of selected data contained in the Local Data Bank. The data is presented according to the division into regions (NUTS 2) and subregions (NUTS 3) in force from 1 January 2021. Additionally, data for the gminas forming the Warsaw Functional Area (WOF) and the Delimitation of Rural Areas (DOW) prepared by the Statistics Poland are presented. The purpose of this delimitation is to ensure a uniform presentation of the results of statistical surveys of official statistics on rural areas, taking into account their diversity.
