Care for children’s wellbeing, guaranteeing them care and po ssibility of development of their abilities occupy an important place in the programmes of activities of various social and politi cal organizations, they are also of interest to the most respected international bodies. Official statistics also include issues related to children and youth in their surveys. 

The Statistical Office in Warszawa has prepared the next edition of the publication “Children in Mazowieckie Voivodship” using data coming from statistical surveys as well as from administra tive sources. The information presented in graphical form with short analytical comments concern: demographic phenomena, the child’s place in the family and beyond, supporting families with children, social care and medical care, education, culture and leisure, as well as health and threats to life. 

In order to show the diversity within the region, selected data were presented at the level of urban areas, rural areas and po wiats. The publication ends with a comparison of Mazovia with other voivodships in the country. 

The data contained in the publication apply mainly to the years 2020–2024, although in some cases selected years or a shor ter period are presented, which results from methodological conditions. 

Presenting the next edition of the publication, I would like to express my hope that it will provide a set of interesting informa tion about the young generation in our region.
