When an interviewer visits your apartment, you can:

• verify if in this period such a survey indeed takes place, by visiting the Central Statistical Office website „Programme of statistical surveys of official statistics”;
• confirm the interviewer’s identity by calling the statistical office phone number:

• ask to see the interviewer’s ID with a photo and authorisation for conducting surveys included in the programme of statistical surveys of official statistics.

When an interviewer calls your phone number:

• confirm the telephone interviewer’s identity by calling the statistical office phone number 783 940 117 (between 7.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m.) S.Zera@stat.gov.pl - Sebastian Zera.;
•  arrange another date for the telephone interview;
• request the interview to be carried out at your home in face-to-face contact with the interviewer.

Questionnaire surveys

Among the surveys conducted in the framework of the official statistics, the following questionnaire surveys are carried out:  

• households,
• retail prices of goods, consumer and non-consumer services, as well as marketplace prices of main agricultural products,
• agricultural holdings.

Surveys are conducted in the whole country. Realisation of surveys in each voivodship is coordinated by statistical offices. The dwellings, the addresses of which have been drawn at random, are visited by the members of the network of statistical interviewers.

Questionnaire surveys are representative surveys conducted on a sample of addresses of dwellings, representing the whole population of households or agricultural holdings in Poland.

Prices survey is conducted in selected retail outlets, eating places and service outlets.

With respect to the frequency the following kinds of surveys can be identified:

• constant surveys – conducted on a permanent basis,
• cyclical surveys  – repeated in defined periods of time,
• one-time surveys – carried out in response to the demand for statistical data on a given field, phenomenon or process.

Information collected within the framework of questionnaire surveys is protected by statistical confidentiality and treated as anonymous and strictly confidential. The gathered information is used only for elaboration of aggregated statistical tables and statistical analyses.
