Mazowieckie voivodship, despite the low share in the resources of national accommodation establishments (5.2% of the number of facilities and 7.3% of bed places) in 2017 accepted 15.9% of total tourists and 22.7% foreign tourists. In 2017, Mazowieckie voivodship was visited by 5 092.0 thous. tourists who spent here 8 880.0 thous. nights.

Tourism in the Capital City of Warszawa in 2017
The Capital City of Warszawa, as in the previous years, took first place in the country among powiats and cities with powiat status in terms of the number of nights spent (followed by Kraków and Kołobrzeski powiat). In 2017, there were 6.2 mln nights spent in tourist accommodation facilities.

Statistical Atlas of Mazowieckie Voivodship
In 2018, 100 years have passed since the establishment of the Central Statistical Office. On this occasion, the Statistical Office in Warsaw prepared the “Statistical Atlas of Mazowieckie Voivodship” presenting the spatial diversity of social and economic phenomena in the region. The Mazovia is considered one of the most internally diversified voivodships in Poland. This results from the dominating position of Warsaw and dynamically developing metropolitan area surrounded by areas struggling with the problems of depopulation, unemployment and low entrepreneurship.
