Summary:
In order to satisfy the readers' needs, the Statistical Office in Warsaw has prepared in cooperation with Sport and Recreation Bureau of the Warsaw City Hall, new publication entitled “Sport in Warsaw in 2006-2009”. This publication has been elaborated in Polish and English.

Using data from statistical surveys and from other sources, the publication provides detailed information, in tables and graphs, on different aspects of sport in Warsaw in 2006-2009. This set of information characterizes sport in individual districts in Warsaw, as well as compares the capital city to other cities in Poland.

This publication is preceded by general notes, glossary of terms, methodological notes and characterization of  sources from which the data have been delivered. The data have been divided into eight thematic sections concerning: population, sports training, physical education teachers, sports clubs and training staff, competition of children and youth, sports and recreation infrastructure, expenditures on sport and recreation, and level of physical activity of working residents in Warsaw.
