Summary:
The Statistical Office in Warsaw for the first time worked out “Children in mazowieckie voivodship” using data coming from the statistical surveys as well as from the administrative sources. The wide set of information describing the demographic and social situation of children and youth has been presented in graphic form supplemented by tables.
The information presented in 6 sections concern: demographic phenomena, the child situation in the family and outside the family, the situation of families with maintained children, social welfare, health condition and medical care, education, culture and resting, health and life hazards and comparisons with European countries in the range of selected rates.
The publication concern mainly data on 2002-2006, although in some cases there are data for the selected years, or for the shorter period, which is because of the methodological reasons. For the more precise characteristics of some phenomena, the selected data from population censuses since 1970 have been taken, as well as from the latest surveys (as of 2007) conducted by other, than statistical, institutions.
